Privacy Notice

This notice explains the difference between preparing a query on your device and choosing to send us an email.

Who is responsible

Feedorbitmosaic Operations Media Ltd, 27 Queen Street, Edinburgh EH2 1JX, United Kingdom, company no. SC782416, is responsible for personal information handled for this website and its editorial correspondence. Contact [email protected] for privacy questions or rights requests.

Using the website

The pages do not include advertising trackers, third-party analytics, external fonts or embedded social widgets. Hosting infrastructure may process technical request information, such as IP address, requested page, time and browser details, to deliver and secure the website. Such processing is based on the legitimate interests of providing a reliable service and preventing misuse.

The local query tool

Information typed into the contact tool is processed in your browser to generate plain text. The tool does not submit it to us, store it in localStorage or send it to an analytics service. Copy Query writes to your clipboard only when you request it. Download .txt creates a file on your device. You control any subsequent sharing and should remove sensitive information before doing so.

Your browser or device may offer its own form restoration or clipboard history. Those device features are outside this website’s control. Closing or refreshing the page is not a guarantee that your device has erased every local trace.

Email you choose to send

If you send an email, we receive your address and whatever information you include. We use it to respond, assess corrections and maintain relevant editorial records. Our lawful basis is normally our legitimate interest in handling correspondence; a legal obligation may apply to some records. Do not send restricted airport information, credentials or unnecessary personal information about other people.

Storage, sharing and retention

Hosting and email providers may process information on our behalf for service delivery and security. We do not sell personal information. Information may be disclosed where required by law or necessary to protect legal rights. Where an international transfer requires safeguards under applicable data-protection law, appropriate safeguards must be used.

Correspondence is retained only while reasonably needed to handle the query, document an editorial decision or meet legal obligations. Technical information should be retained only for operational and security needs. Retention can vary with the matter; you may ask about the records associated with your correspondence.

Preferences and your rights

A browser preference is stored only when you choose a cookie setting. See Cookies & preferences for details and controls. This website does not use personal information for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. We may need to confirm your identity proportionately. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or another competent supervisory authority. Contacting us first is optional.
