Cookies and localStorage are different
A cookie is a small value a browser can send back to a server. localStorage is browser storage that remains on your device and is not automatically attached to page requests. Both can be relevant to privacy rules, so we explain the storage used by this site rather than describing all browser storage as cookies.
What this site uses
The site’s JavaScript saves one preference under the key feedorbitmosaic-cookie-preference if you select Accept or Essential Only. Its value records only that choice. It contains no name, email address or query text. It remains in the current browser until you change the choice or clear the site’s stored data; it has no automatic expiry.
No optional tracking is activated by either choice because this static site currently contains none. Accept does not create blanket permission for unrelated future technologies. If optional services are introduced, the information and any required consent arrangements should be updated before those services run.
Your browser preference
Both choices leave the guides and local query tool available. Your setting applies to this browser and origin, not every device you use.
Enable JavaScript to view or save a browser preference.
Other browser activity
The mobile menu and scroll-reveal effects do not need persistent storage. The operations-note tool processes your text in page memory. Copy Query uses the Clipboard API after your action; Download .txt creates a local file. Neither stores your note in the preference entry.
Your browser may independently retain history, form values, downloads or clipboard contents. Manage these through your device and browser settings. Clearing cookies alone may not clear localStorage in every browser; use the option to remove all site data where appropriate.
External sources and contact
Following an external source link takes you to a separate website that may use its own cookies. We do not control those practices. For wider information about personal data, read our privacy notice.
